Haddonstone, the UK’s leading name in cast stone design and manufacture, was selected to create a range of high-quality cast stone landscaping components for the considerable gardens at a beautiful, historic property in Leicestershire.
Much of the existing stonework throughout the grounds of the property had weathered over decades of exposure to the elements. An important requirement from the estate’s discerning owner was that new stonework, along with restored pieces, were as close as possible to the originals in terms of design, colour and texture. Specialising in restoration and replication, Haddonstone’s team was perfectly placed to bring the historic landscape back to life.
Each component for the project was produced by specialist craftsmen in Haddonstone’s Northamptonshire manufactory. Firstly, a special bespoke colour was agreed with the client to ensure that each landscaping element would seamlessly match with the existing stonework. Key elements of the new scheme included a cast stone balustrade as part of the refurbishment of the existing bridge, cast stone steps leading up to a terrace, and cast stone copings as wall dressings; while each stone design was manufactured using our Haddonstone (semi-dry cast limestone) material.
